I am a new customer; how do I book my child onto lessons?

To enrol your child please complete a registration form online or call Watford Swim School to be booked onto the next course. If the classes you are interested in are full and we cannot offer you an alternative space we will add you to our waiting list.

If I am placed on the waiting list, how long can I expect to wait?

The waiting-list can vary in length and is also dependant on your availability to attend lessons. Please ask for current situation when adding your name to the waiting list.

Where exactly is the swimming pool and how do I get to the pool?

The pool is in the garden of number 12 Stud Green, Watford, Garston, Herts, WD25 7EU. Access is via the alleyway on the left of the driveway.

Where can I park my car when I come to lessons.

There are two car parking spaces on the driveway and several ‘public’ spaces opposite the driveway. Please be considerate of our neighbours and do not block their driveways.

What age can my child begin swimming lessons and do I need to get in the water?

Watford Swim School takes babies from 4 months old. Parents do not have to be in the water from when the child is 3 years old and above. Watford Swim School caters for all ages and all abilities, up to adults.

What should my child wear in the pool?

All babies must wear correct fitting swimming nappies which all parents must ensure their babies wear. All fully toilet trained children should wear regular swim wear. We advise boys not to wear long knee length swim shorts as this restricts their swimming.

Can I watch the lessons?

Yes, you can watch and provide support and encouragement to your child. In fact, we prefer it if you stay so we ask for all parents to remain on poolside throughout the duration of the lesson. Poolside space is limited so we ask that buggy’s etc are not brought into the pool area.

When are the lessons?

We run lessons all day and evening from Monday to Friday and Saturdays 9-2pm.

How long does a lesson last for?

30 minutes

How much will lessons cost?

Please check our website for the most up-to-date costs. Lessons are payable in full at enrolment before each course begins. If you are booking one to one lessons we accept half term payments in advance.

If a child joins mid-way through a course they will pay the remainder of the course at the point they join.

How many children are in each class?

Watford Swim School prides itself on proving small group lessons.  The typical number of children rages from 1 to 3 children per class depending on the type of class that you book. This ensures that all children get the special care and attention in learning the vital life skill of swimming.

The maximum class size we offer is 4 children per class.

What Swimming Awards can I expect my child to get?

Watford Swim School teaches to the Swim England frame work. After your child has been assessed at a stage, they will be awarded a badge and certificate. These can be purchased separately.

How do I re-enrol onto the next course?

Three to four weeks prior to the end of the current course you will be contacted asking whether you wish to re-enrol.

To keep your place on the course, please either pay while you are attending the pool during the repayment period or make an online payment, full instructions will be provided. Failure to re-enrol within the deadline period will result in being removed from the next course and your place being taken by another child.

What if I the miss the payment date?

If you miss the date, please contact us as soon as possible. After the pay by date, we fill the lessons with other children. If your space is still available, you just need to pay. If your space has gone, we will try to find you a suitable alternative. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to find you a suitable class, so please make sure you pay on time.

What if my child misses a lesson due to sickness?

We do not offer refunds or catch up lessons for general sickness, however if it is long term please call us to discuss the situation and we will try to accommodate you.
